Ventilation
Roll-up Sides
The natural, inexpensive and most popular form of ventilation available.
The 4:1 ratio, manual gear crank:
We carry self locking gear cranks including curved or straight guide. See photo on right.
For an electric system we can supply Electric Gear Cranks at 4 amp capacity for roll-up sides to a maximum of 100 feet long and 5 feet high. For those lengths over 100 feet we suggest a larger 6 amp motor.
In order for this system to work automatically, it has to be hooked up to a control box. They need to be told what to do! Control boxes are available to run one, two, three or even four electric motors at a time.
Exhaust Fans give you:
Year round venting.
Or just winter venting when a roll-up side will be too cold for your plants.
Humidity control.
Aluminum Shutters:
Single Panel and Double Panel Shutters are available with single and double panel motors.
Let in the fresh air!
Use by itself or in conjunction with your exhaust fan to let in the fresh air while the old air is being sucked out by your exhaust fan.
Horizontal Airflow Fans: (HAF)
Used to circulate air through the greenhouse.
This will help with warm air circulation when heating and will help control condensation too.
Factors to consider when selecting fans are:
Required capacity.
Service life.
Noise output in retail and work areas.
Energy efficiency.
Roof Ventilation.

Roof vents are highly effective and quiet. Minimal energy is required. Warm air will rise out of your greenhouse and cold air will drop in through the vent. Most new gutter houses are roof vented.
If you have an older greenhouse you want fitted with a roof vent then give us a call.
Roof vents can be manual or hooked up to a motor. The Wadsworth vent motors have open and close limit switches. The motors are factory wired for either thermostat or computer control.
Solar Vent Openers
Just the thing for smaller greenhouses with window vents. This automatic vent arm is filled with seed oils commonly known as "wax". The piston expands with heat causing the arm to open your window!
Then as the temperature drops the piston relaxes to close your window again.
