Cold frames are strong and versatile, used for, Over-wintering container nursery stock.
Hardening off spring bedding crops. Growing. Propagating. Hanging Baskets.
Frames also make great shelters too. Can be covered in poly or a tarp material.
Standard Sizes: 12' 18' or 20' wide. lengths up to 300'. Custom widths are available.
Gable Framing:
B&W's gable end framing consists of
1-1/2" galvanized square steel tubing for the frame and is suitable for covering with poly, double poly, corrugated or twin-wall polycarbonate.
("Dynaglas" or "Thermaglas")
Superstructure:
The frames are made of galvanized steel tubing. The arches are made of 1-1/2" square steel and placed 4' or 5' on centre. Further spacing is not recommended.
The wind braces, continuous ridge purlins, and side purlins are 1-1/4" diameter, round steel tube. The frames are anchored with foundation posts or flat bottom brackets. Steel baseboards are available or you can use treated 2x6 lumber for the baseboards. (typically supplied by the customer.) "Certified Organic" customers use cedar or steel baseboards.
